Your Gift REACHES Into Lives – Your Support Gives CHILDREN Hope

The staff and supporters of Children’s Foundation of Mid-America never sit still.

The idea started with a simple loving children’s home in Farmington, Missouri in 1914. Presbyterian’s met Scripture’s mandate to watch over the fatherless and the motherless. Over the years, the need has grown. Instead of standing idly by and watching more and more children go without care, the organization has intentionally grown with well-designed facilities and programs to meet the need. The last decades have seen new expansion into the realm of preventive care with family mentoring and other efforts designed to keep children in their homes. When you support the Children’s Foundation of Mid-America, your gifts are saving and improving lives through the organizations listed here.

Farmington Children's Home
Farmington Children’s Home cares for young men and women between the ages of 12 and 18 years. Children live in residential homes, redesigned to effectively serve their needs. There is alternative care available for Level 4 children, those with more intensive needs. Spacious lawns give children room to play games, plant gardens, roam and explore. Through their shared activities and guided development, they find new meaning for the word “home.”

Foundations
Hannibal sits in the middle of some of poorest Missouri ‘s counties. The financial stresses placed on the families who reside there have resulted in the need for good family counseling. The goal of the Foundations program, based in Hannibal, is to keep children in their homes. Timing is crucial. If family mentors can intervene in the lives of troubled youth and parents, often they can prevent additional abuse and problems. For children who have already been displaced, Foundations workers pave the way for re-entry and a fresh start. All efforts are designed to heal the family and construct a healthy foundation for the future.
