Christina

Christina was afraid to tell anyone about her uncle who sexually abused her. Her parents were so addicted to methamphetamine that they really didn't care was happened to Christina.

When Christina saw her parents building a meth lab in the basement, she rebelled and told her story to a teacher at school. At the age of 13 she was placed in a foster home and initially adjusted well.  But Christina missed her family and friends amd decoded tp rim away. By then her parents had been incarcerated and she had no home to return to.

Living on the streets, Christina began doing drugs and stealing. After stealing a car, Christina was placed in a locked juvenile correctional facility until she was 16.

Christina's last stop was Children's Foundation of Mid-America's independent Living Program where she began to receive the support and guidance she needed to change. She finished a GED before turning 17 and found a job. She began talking about college and living on her own. Christina was able to find stability at our Independent Living Home and formed positive relationships with her peers and staff. When she had saved enough money, Christina moved to her own apartment. Currently Christina is attending a local community college and wants to pursue a degree in counseling.
