Dan

Dan worried about his family.  He was taken from his home at age 14.  Officials said his mother was incapable of caring for him and his siblings.

Dan’s mother couldn’t handle the frustrations of her husband’s leaving.  Things in the house turned to chaos.  Children ate when they were hungry or at home.  There was no bedtime, so Dan came home whenever he wanted.  He missed a lot of school.  Dan’s mother frustration and anger eventually grew from depression and disorganization to abuse.

Still for Dan, nothing is was important as his family.  He felt his own frustrations, wondering why he failed to be able to provide for his Mom in her time of need.  He worried about how she was getting along at home along, and he worried about his siblings in their foster placements.

In time, and with the help of his therapist at Farmington Children’s Home, Dan learned to be a boy again. His frustrations over the situation that his family was in began to disappear. Mom received some parent training and counseling to deal with her frustrations from being alone to raise 3 children. This family was reunited and is continuing to heal.
