Care For Kids - Regional Girls' Shelter PDF Print E-mail

Regional Girls' Shelter partners with Children's Foundation of Mid-America to care for girls -- through treatment oriented programs and services like residential treatment, intensive-secure residential care, court-ordered intervention, step down-level three residential treatment, educational support and therapeutic mentoring.  Here, young women live in residential homes tailored to create a sense of family belonging and community. With the support of trained, caring staff girls aged 12 to 18 grow in self-confidence and self-understanding.

Appropriate for: 

  • Female only
  • 12-18 years old
  • Children with DSM-IV diagnoses with moderate to severe intensity
  • Unable to cope with less restrictive alternatives
  • Psychiatric diversion or in need of psychiatric maintenance
  • Conduct disordered
  • Oppositional Defiant
  • At risk of self-harm or harm to others
  • Depressed children
